Elevators (Pvt) Ltd, joint venture between OTIS Elevator Company (Singapore) Pte Ltd and Aitken Spence PLC, secured the contract to supply and install OTIS elevators at the prestigious Altair Project in 2015.
Altair, once completed, will be the tallest residential building and the first of its kind in Sri Lanka with its unique design and structure, and will reach a height of 240 meters with a total of 68 floors. Designed and conceptualized by visionary architect, Moshe Safdie – who also designed Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands – the luxury condominium will revolutionize Colombo’s skyline.
Altair comprises a total of 19 OTIS elevators:
7 OTIS Skyrise Elevators, speed of 5.0 mps

The Skyrise is the most dynamic creation of OTIS yet, and is designed to be amongst the most energy-efficient elevators in the world and are equipped with E2 state- of-the-art intelligent control system, Q-frame cab technology, and safety breaks designed using the same heat-resistant material used in jet-engine nozzles.
We, Elevators (Pvt) Ltd, completed installation, testing and commissioning of one OTIS Skyrise Elevator that operates at 5.0 mps speed. This OTIS elevator installed at Altair is the fastest elevator in operation in Sri Lanka at present.
